This sheepskin is 100% natural black sheep with no dyes or bleaches used in the tanning process! The color is 100% created by nature! Our sheepskins are not heavily deodorized as many are!- We're a small business located in the USA and provide fast customer service to all! Important, Please read below to ensure your complete satisfaction with our sheepskins! With this said no two sheepskins will ever be exactly alike!
Some are very woolly, some soft as silk, some extremely thick, while others have a finer feel. Sheepskin is the skin of a Lamb or Sheep pelt that's tanned with the wool still attached to the skin.
There's no gluing or manufacturing that takes place. The backside of the hide consists of the hairless skin which when tanned is a suede and the front is the wool of a lamb or sheep. It's important to note that not as much attention is given to the backside of the sheepskin hide since the wool on the front is what's important!
Light random stains or spots from the tannery are perfectly normal and not considered a second or defective. Sheepskin that I feel have more marks than I like I always post photos so you're not disappointed.
Sheepskin Rugs have different wording that's used interchangeably in the industry which makes it a bit confusing for the consumer so we use them as keywords in our titles so our products can be found. Sheepskin are often referred to as shearling, lambskin, lambs wool, fur skin, sheep pelt or sheep hide. Sheepskin or Shearling are really most appropriate.
I want a white sheepskin all appear to be yellowish or cream colored, why? The yellowing on sheepskins are their natural lanolin markings, unfortunately with natural undyed unbleached sheepskins this is a very normal and unique part of the wool.
I will say Icelandic white sheepskins are some of the whitest naturals in color as well as a select few Holland and Swedish Sheepskins. Just message me if you're unsure of photos since it's very hard even for us to depict the actual sheepskin in pictures! If you're looking for Eco-friendly dyed sheepskins we do have access to dozens of unique colors we'd happily custom order for you!The reason we do not carry dyed sheepskin is because you cannot spot clean them with wool wash since the color can be at risk to bleeding! Their dye can also bleed in your home and this wouldn't make us or our customers very happy and something you must know upfront! Dyed sheepskins must be dry cleaned and kept out of the sun light to maintain their dyed color. Thank you for taking the time to actually read this info:. We're located in the USA!
